Just going to leave this here. There is beauty in music. I hope to be able to write songs that change minds someday.
Hey yo
There was once a time
When everybody believed in at least some form of god
And religion ruled the world
It was called the ‘Dark Ages’
Look
They act like I set out to be famous
Talking out the anus
Then go on to describe my lyrics as heinous
Its funny how threatening music is ain’t it
To the typical mono-theistical hypocritical ignoramus
I gives a damn what your name is
For all intents and purposes you can remain nameless
Or have the same name as
Jesus, Buddha, Zeus, or Muhammad
Worshiping every star in the sky plus Haley’s comet
(Why don’t you believe in God?)
Why don’t you believe in Ra?
(huh?)
Why don’t you turn to the east daily and pray to Allah?
(I don’t know)
I’m just a guy speaking the facts
If you don’t like it you can leave through the back
Creationism is a joke and I’ll leave it at that
Look at these so-called down brothers
Hell I might as well be looking at their grandmothers
Thats where they get it from anyways
Just brain washed by the fear and the whip like mini slaves
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Yeah that’s why they attack us
Try to make up crap about us
(Because they scare of the truth)
Trying to go song for song
When they jealous of us all along
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Man they don’t want it with us
Bottom line is they just wanna be us
(Its cause they’re scare of the truth)
Take your mediocre songs and your kindergarten blogs and stuff
(Questions)
How could you god be jealous if he was the only one?
How would we be his children with Jesus his only son?
There’s just too many holes but I’ll leave you with this
If God was omni-benevolent how could evil exist?
Let me break it down even further
Say I had a pound of salt
And I asked you with in it to find sugar (okay)
Where would it come from?
If there was zero percent sugar content then logically you’d never find none
Teaching logic to theists you can forget it
Cause not matter how far you dumb it down they just don’t get it
So I’ll swear to God (which one?)
I don’t care pick one
Ba’al, Apophis, Anubus, hell how bout Krishna
That I’ll do whatever it takes to spread truth
And to challenge everything that your God said do
My tongue is like the hammer of Thor
Nailing your deity to a cross and asking for more
I’m Greydon Square
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Yeah that’s why they attack us
Try to make up crap about us
(Cause they scare of the truth)
Try to go song for song
When they jealous of us all along
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Man they don’t wanna with us
Bottom line is they just wanna be us
(Its cause they’re scare of the truth)
Take your mediocre songs and your kindergarten blogs and stuff
When you understand why you reject all other gods
You’ll understand why I reject yours
Stephen F Roberts said that and I take it to heart
Think about when I debate theists and take ‘em apart
I’m a child of one lesser god
No superstitious bologna
Or moody temperamental invisible homies
If it exists then show me
Not a book written by man
With letters and words written by hand
(But the bibles Gods inspired word)
Prove it
Until you can prove the bible was divinely inspired then its useless
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
If you don’t believe me ask your Reverend
To cite precedent where faith wasn’t involved
Until he does we just gonna stop listen to ya’ll
Cause you talking in circles
We’ll listen when you talk with a purpose
And that’s real
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Yeah that’s why they attack us
Try to make up Crap about us
(Cause they scare of the truth)
Try to go song for song
When they jealous of us all along
(Its cause they scare of the truth)
Man they don’t wanna with us
Bottom line is they just wanna be us
(Its cause they’re scare of the truth)
Take your mediocre songs and your kindergarten blogs and stuff

Zachariah 13:3 King James of course
And it shall come to pass
That when any shall yet prophesy
Then his father and his mother that begat him shall say to him
Thou shall not live
For thou speaketh lies in the name of the LORD
And his father and his mother that begat him
Shall thrust him through when he prophesies.
Only problem with that is
My father’s dead and my mother wants nothing to do with me
I’m glad I crated my own family
I’d be dead by now

Patrick,
I just heard you have renounced Christianity and converted to atheism. I am sad to hear this news. From reading your blog I can see this wasn’t a spontaneous decision but was one of much thought and research. This may sound silly to you, but I want you to know that I am going to be praying for you. I still love you as a brother and believe that God has great plans for you. My story is quite the opposite of yours… Where you had formerly lived a life in the Church and tried to deal with your sexual sins and your human nature, you ultimately came to a point where you realized you were made a certain way and shouldn’t be shameful for your existence (this is the gist I got out of your conversion to atheism story). I, on the other hand, lived of a life of sensuality and did whatever I wanted to prior to becoming a Christian on July 4, 2004. My life was completely empty during that time period. Sure I was able to give into sexual desire and do what I wanted, ignorant of my sin and shame. But at the end of that day, that is all I had, and that my friend, is not worth living for. Since I was saved, God has shown me that life is better without those things because they are harmful. Sure it has been hard… I was addicted to pornography at the time of my salvation, but God was faithful in giving me freedom from that addiction. Eventually it was not even a temptation and God has brought things that are far greater into my life.
I commend your transparency and hope that in the end it will be the means to which God brings you back to Himself. Jesus didn’t die so that we could try our best to live guilt-free lives. He died because we can’t live guilt-free lives and He wants us to be joyful in Himself. The turning point for me was realizing who I was as a person, realizing that wasn’t the person I wanted to be, and falling at the feet of Jesus and begging for Him to save me and give me a better life. I would love to speak with you anytime about your conversion. You’ve done far more research than I have so I’m sure you have answers to all my questions and questions that I won’t be able to answer. At the end of the day I agree with C.S. Lewis – “I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen. Not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” Praying for your brother.
Brad,
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for me, as well as your deep consideration of my point of view, that it was not something I underwent lightly or haphazardly. I had a conversation with Dustin Willis yesterday (my former pastor) about this very thing. I think i’m going to write a blog post about my current perspective in the matter.
The short of it is, i think pornography is evil and damaging not because god said so, but because it psychologically and physiologically alters the way we perceive reality, and handicaps our functionality. My route merely does not heap the superfluous cycle of guilt-repentance-restoration on an already mismatched psychology developed in the stone age thrust into the modern world. At this point, i have had my most successful monoamorous relationship to date, and can adequately address my emotions and feelings from a strictly psychological standpoint. Things are better, and I have found what i was looking for all along.
music is great evidence for the existence of absolutes in our world and how they relate to culture – if you have ever heard someone sing off key or miss a note on the guitar, and yours ear cringe, its because you know that the standard has been missed – the scale, chord makeup, etc. (that no one created but instead has been discovered) that should have been played wasn’t, and its noticeably an error. cultures use these absolutes in their own ways to created their own sound but pretty much anyone can tell if the sound or note is off the mark.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here.
The ancient Greeks actually had twice as many notes in an octave as we do now, having half and even quarter notes between what we describe in western music. I think that music is evidence for our evolved nature, in which sound is often used in mating rituals; i know i sure got more attention from the ladies when i was ‘that guy with the guitar.’
I agree with andrew; music is subjective, and does very little to prove there is an absolute. One person’s flat is another’s sharp, and who are we to interpret the artist’s meaning?
“music is great evidence for the existence of absolutes in our world”
The art music of allows us to inject our own interpretations and create it how we see fit. When we miss a “note”, it may not sound perfect, but the concept is completely our own construct and independent of how “perfect” others may see it. So analogy fail brad.
DERP!
(PS i think christian music sounds like crap, how do you know that you aren’t violating the absolutes by playing that S**T? Oh that’s right, because it’s SUBJECTIVE. Analogy double fail)
DERP! DERP!
I love Greydon Square’s music.
I discovered his work back in June 2008 and have been a huge fan ever since. In fact, I have fond memories of that summer, and whenever I think back on the memories, I remember the music of his that I discovered. Good stuff.
